I have asked Agoracom in the past to remove some content from otherwise valid posts. This absolutely should be the exception rather than the rule, but it does provide options.

Personally, I think that you should just delete the offending post. Most of the posts here lately have been rehashes of old arguments, and the loss of a post that goes off the rails won't really affect our knowledge base. In other words, better to lose the arm than risk the spread of cancer.
