That he publishes his newsletter The Midas Letter could explain how he could have a relationship / conflict with GNH. If he owns GNH, and is planning to write an article promoting it at some point in the future, that could be considered a conflict. The BNN FAQ indicates that "conflict" includes potential conflicts.
Or perhaps the fact that he knows GNH people personally, and was previously employed by them? That relationship could taint his recommendation, and create a conflict.
Basically, I think the term is rather ambiguous. Hard to know what it means in this case.
