BOWMORE Commences Phase Two Drill Program on the St-Victor Property

MONTRÉAL, QUÉBEC--(Marketwire - April 11, 2012) - BOWMORE Exploration Ltd. (TSX VENTURE:BOW) (FRANKFURT:0B5) ("Bowmore") is pleased to announce the start of a Phase Two diamond drill program on its 100% owned St-Victor property, located 15 km east of the town of Asbestos in south-eastern Quebec.

The second phase drill program will consist of 5 holes totaling 1000 to 1200 meters, designed to test the extensions of Wotton NW gold zone, where the 2011 drill program intersected relatively homogenous gold mineralization hosted by bedded/disseminated pyrite in a unit of black slate. The best intersection returned 115 meters grading 0.35 g/t Au (see December 15, 2012 press release). The purpose of the Phase Two drill program is to test the continuation and potential grade improvement of this stratabound gold mineralization at greater depths along the nose of a fold structure.

Mr. Paul Dumas, President and CEO of Bowmore Explorations Ltd stated: 'We are looking forward on expanding this mineralized zone with the second drill program. We were very encouraged by the preliminary drill results on our Saint-Victor property in 2011. The Wotton NW zone confirms the potential for a bulk-tonnage gold deposit near the historic mining district of Asbestos and Thetford-Mines, two mining communities deeply affected by decreasing asbestos demand where highly skilled mining workforces are still present."

The St-Victor exploration program is primarily targeting sediment-hosted, low-grade, bulk tonnage gold deposits similar to those found at Sukhoi Log (Siberia) or at Kinross' Paracatu Mine in Brazil. This year's petrological work on core from the Phase One drill program, however, suggests the Wotton NW Zone is perhaps distal mineralization to a sediment-hosted gold-rich massive sulphide deposit, similar to the Champagne deposit occurring at the north-eastern extremity of the St-Victor Synclinorium (average grade of 2.1 g/t Au). Bowmore will be investigating geophysical methods in 2012 aimed at detecting such a potential deposit on the St-Victor property.

The company has obtained all necessary agreements and permits for property access and drilling work to be done on the targeted areas. Drilling will be limited to the township of Wotton and will not impact the neighboring township of St-Camille.

Bowmore's goal is to insure best practices during all phases of the exploration program and open communication with the local communities.
