I agree share price appreciation needs buyers, and that certainly sentiment needs to change with juniors in a big way before we get any real gains.
I do however, have to respectfully disagree that volume is needed for a stock to be manipulated.
In fact, I believe quite the opposite is possible, due to low volume it can be easier to manipulate a stock, all someone has to do to keep the share price down is sell a few thousand shares here and there, and the volume isn't high enough to absorb those sales, so in reality the price can drop fairly quickly on a minimal amount of shares.
In contrast, if 1 million shares were traded daily, it would be much harder for someone to change the price by selling a few thousand shares...
