To answer your last question, yes they do actually. Seems the board believes it to be fair as well, as do most outside investors/PP. I'm calling BS on the compensation for your neighbor. Total compensation is many times your claim, you site base salary only.

When there are no sales, there is no income, when there is no income there is no bonus structure, when there is no bonus structure the salary must be according to the position and responsibility. Again, I have no problem with the salaries of major corporate executives who in this case are making as little as 15% what other CEO's/CFO's would make in a major bluechip corporation.
