I thought I would never feel sorry for Conrad Black but it is difficult not to feel at least a bit of sympathy for him. There he sits in a Florida jail on a six year sentence resulting from charges that involved something like $5 million. Even that amount was somewhat doubtful. He seems to be well informed about current events judging from his writings in the National Post so he must read about these chaps who are walking away from events involving billions, seemingly without a murmur from the enforcers who hounded poor Conrad into the slammer. He may yet have his day - he definitely is no quitter. I think I would cheer for him if he took one more run at being released early.
