For the most part, you can't get bid/ask prices on Canadian stocks using Scottrade and you can't trade online unless they have a pink sheet 5 symbol designation. I phone my local Scottrade rep and they purchase them for me. I give them the share amt and the USD price I want to buy/sell at. I would much rather use Etrade since you can do all of this on line (Canadian stock transactions) and had an account with them until last year when I moved my account since they have a few billion $'s of toxic mortgages and I don't want my account frozen when they implode. Penntrade is good if you are located in a state they are licensed in.
