If the Chinese are at indeed at the bottom of the COMEX short selling, then I have to say that they ARE in fact legitimately Hedging!

They are hedging the value of their $US treasuries with PMs at lower prices...and I don't blame them a bit...That's what markets are for.

Yes, they are manipulating the PM markets to get what they want, (temporarily lower PM prices) but as long as they aren't naked short behind the actual Comex contract, then I can't say that I blame them, and they aren't breaking any rules. (Hedging a real silver position is legal).

In fact, I can't say I blame them even if they default on the contracts completely, because that's exactly what the US gov't is going to do to the $US treasuries that the Chinese hold...And anyone who goes long Comex Paper Silver instead of holding Physical, in mho deserves to be screwed. Sorry.

These comparatively few short contracts (a couple $ billions) will not even begin to cover the losses that they will suffer when the $US goes down the drain. The Chinese could be shafted by 100s of billions, or even trillions by the future US bond/dollar default.

How else do U expect China to make back these losses? I feel sorry for the Chinese, (being screwed by the WEST for their honest labour for decades)...not some rich American and Canadian bastards including myself who are trying to get rich quick off of the physical silver and gold shortage...

If we are patient, we will get what we want eventually...physical silver will run out, default, explode...when the Chinese want it to. I can wait until they're ready...at least until January...lol!
