Golden Minerals is a junior silver producer with a strong growth profile, listed on both the NYSE Amex and TSX.
This is the kind of crap that pisses me off. On the brink of civil war? What a ridiculous, irresponsible statement to make. The violence in Mexico is about thugs fighting over money. There has never been any challenge to the legitimate rule of law in the country, nor will there be. Gangs fighting the law enforcement is a serious issue, but it is NOT a question of contesting rule of governance. Corruption is a problem in Mexico. It is also a problem in Chicago. Neither situation represents a possible overturn of democratically chosen representation.
People seem to have difficulty distinguishing between violent conflict and an organised uprising that represents a threat to governance. Here is a hint: you have armed thugs fighting each other just as much as they are fighting the government.
What these articles fail to point out is that as bad as things are, the government has the support of the majority of the population, and there are many signs of improvement. An escalation in the violence is not an indication that the government is losing this fight. And it will not be settled quickly or quietly given the massive amounts of money on the line.
And just WTF is the ceo supposed to say about all of this? Excuse me, but please point out a single example of anything connected to this situation that has directly affected ECU?
Maybe the ceo can share some important insight on the price of wheat... Have a clue.
