Depending on the source, the Mexican drug war murder rate has been between 5,000 and 8,000 per year since 2007. In 2009, the U.S. had 15,241 murders and the murder rate peaked at over 24,000 in 1993. In the city I live in I think 1/4 of the people are drug addicts and the 250 murders per year in my city are 2/3 drug related. Guess where most of the Mexican drug violence is? It is near the border with the U.S. and it is our money they are fighting over. The Mexican drug cartel is not a political organization, it is a criminal organization. In Mexico the criminals are shooting themselves and the police and some politicians in order to intimadate. In the U.S., the criminals on Wall Street are much more evolved and they intimadate the politicians by threatening to bankrupt the country if they do not get their way.
