Golden Minerals is a junior silver producer with a strong growth profile, listed on both the NYSE Amex and TSX.
Cockerel,
I think there are a number of ways to look at the question "What should I own to preserve wealth and protect and provide for my family."
How far out into the future you look can help you decide what to own.
Short tern crisis. (Basic system still in place)
Food- on the shelf
Gas
Protection
A means of barter or ability to buy things with some form of currency.
Mining shares
Medium term crisis (System very unstable -bank holidays- stock market closure- new money) All of the above plus
Physical Gold & Silver- To buy into a new system if the current one collapses.
Money held outside the country
A place to go and ride out the storm - Cabin- other country
A Garden for food - Live stock
Fuel to keep warm or cool
Neighbors that have similar protections in place
Long term Crisis- All of the above plus
Fully paid for land
Farm
Animals
A collective that have skills that would be willing to relocate to that farm- Doctor- machinist- Nurse- Farmer(large scale)- Live stock management skills, Canning skills
Shares in a company are of no short term use.
Those is my quick thoughts on that.
