Caseyc, that is a plausable assumption imo, but not just the Chinese but banksters having their fingers in that pie also.
If US politicians would complain too much, i.e. really upset the Chinese, then the Chinese could dump the US dollar hold onto the markets and the US dollar would be worth perhaps as little as 10 cents of present. A catastrophy for US $ and an unplanned advancement of Chinese advancement to the status of world currency. Also many countries would be very upset with the Chinese if they precipitated such an action suddenly.
The Chinese are following a slow but steady progression to the end of aquiring resources and world currency status.
That is the trump card that the Chinese hold over the US government. The US can bark ( and they are doing so) but can not bite.
