Black Horse deposit has an Inferred Resource Now 85.9 Million Tonnes @ 34.5%
Noted that 4 FNs were present to make short comments. Among the 4, here is a quote of the marketwired NR
............Chief Peter Moonias
Neskantaga First Nation
"We have worked very hard in the past few years as remote First Nations to look at improving overall accessibility for our community members and this community service road corridor study will help us define viable options for us based on community values."
The key here is that this is not Elijah Moonias, Chief of Marten Falls (BTW, there are two more Moonias in Marten Falls, Linda and Tom). So, Marten Falls is not part of the group of 4 which are supporting the EW roads to their communities. Perhaps, NOT (jointly with KWG) could build the portion from Webequie Jct to the RoF. This would provide a transportation corridor to bring equipment and supplies to the RoF for building the mines.
Bet that there has to be something else to connect Marten Falls to the road network to the South (and North to the RoF...job opportunities). In other words, I am waiting for more shoes to drop. Do they have another announcement, a more important announcement, to make? One option could be a NS corridor (RR and service road), with a connection from Ebametoong to Marten Falls Junction (that is my new name for the intersection between the NS route and the Altternate EW road proposed by KWG. It has to satisfy everybody (can't leave Elijah out there alone by himself).
With this $780,000 appertizer, we should expect much bigger money for the main course, say ~$1B (plus another $1B promised by Ontario to be announced later?), which should be enough for doing something about the NS RR and road (to develop chromite assets as well, since Ni alone would not be enough to support a sustained development for the RoF).
Stay-tuned for this "breaking announcement" (jointly with Minister Oliver, the Fed purse controller for big ticket items). Both Rickford and Oliver would want a Big Bang to secure their seats (and other Conservative colleagues including the PM) in the next election. So, expect major fireworks at dinner time.
