Creating value through Exploration and Development in the Sierra Madre of Mexico
Seeker,
First let me correct an incorrect impression I seem to have given you. I don't run a brokerage. When I said my broker records I was referring to records of my individual accounts. I'm just a small-time investor who has been attempting to ride the precious metals bull market.
Like you, I see a tendency for a certain stickiness in Kimber at various points. For example, there had been a pattern of declines to $1 or just below and significant bounces. But that pattern since has failed badly. I watch with interest, but I'm still not sure I know what some of these apparent patterns truly mean, or more to the point, how to exploit them. I also try to keep an eye on volume and it seems to me there are periodic large-volume sales or purchases that indicate the seller/purchaser doesn't seem to mind having an outsized impact on the share price, positively or negatively.
Also like you, I've taken what is in the public record regarding the company and have tried to fill in the gaps by making what I think are logical assumptions. And, frankly, I've expected more tangible developments sooner than this. But I am far from giving up on this one. We may have to wait for more complete drilling results and resource deliniations before anything happens on the takeover front.
Likely you've seen the news that Goldcorp has just made another acquisition. The game is afoot for the big guys gobbling up explorers and small producers. GG also has invested money in another junior I own, Evolving Gold, and I had hoped that perhaps GG would consider Kimber based on relative geographic proximity in Mexico. Maybe that is yet to come. Maybe it will be another biggie with exisiting Mexico exposure. Maybe it will be a bolt from the blue.
In the interim, it's been my long-avowed opinion that it is likey we will see strong price in Kimber action ahead of a buyout. Let's just say that this is an imperfect world and there always seem to be plenty of people with knowledge ahead of the fact who drive up price before, magically, the offer becomes public. I am eagerly awaiting such strong price action in Kimber.
Have a good holiday weekend,
Goldcarp
