Aw Goldcarp, you know you hurt my feelings when you say you're alone here.
Ah, San Gold. It was the first stock I ever purchased, thanks to my previous broker Peter Schiff. I got it at a buck thirty-seven. Great buy... except that I bought it in October of 2007. Within nine months my EuroPac mining portfolio lost over 60%. I waited to rebound to a 10% loss and sold. SGRCF (the pink sheet) over the years has been a poster boy for cringing junior mining performance relative to gold.
(In fairness to Peter, that portfolio included Silverstone Resources, bought out by SLW for a double, triple, oh, I don't want to do the math. In fairness to me, it also included Blue Note Mining which went bankrupt.)
I don't post more because I too am short on cold, hard facts.
GC, have you ever called IR at KBX? I never have because I can only visualize some poor guy who has been asked the same question for five years.
We have a few things going for us presently. What I still think was new money in December 2011 bought at about these levels. I don't think they'll leave easily. POG is in a channel, maddening, but each day adds a bit of resolve. The gold chart from February '08 to '09 is analogous to this most recent pullback and stabilization.
There is a remarkably bullish consensus as I watch financial TV. Even JP is a bull on the overall market in the short-term.
