In its outlook for 2010, Lake Shore Gold Corp. (TSX: LSG) has revised its production estimate for 2010 from 100,000 ounces of gold to 65,000 ounces in order to more rapidly bring its Thunder Creek and Bell Creek projects into production.
Of that total, 50,000 ounces are expected to be produced from the Timmins Mine, with 15,000 ounces due to come from the two advanced exploration projects.
Commercial production is expected from the Timmins Mine during the fourth quarter, with access to underground mineralization at the Thunder Creek and Bell Creek projects expected in the second quarter. Exploration spending in 2010 is set to reach $31 million, with additional project spending being forecast at $115 million.
In 2009, Lake Shore spent $95.2 million in project spending, including exploration expenditures of $18.7 million.
