Producing Mines and "state-of-the-art" Mill
Wanderer,
My reference to buying more was in reply to the discussion about Canadian banking stocks; in reading my reply I realize where the confusion may have occurred as I did not quote the original text (my apologies).
Everyone is doing a gut check right now and each of us is responding in their own manner. We're all pretty emotional right now, watching our share price dip lower and lower, and some react with denial, some with positivity and some with frustration and anger. I don't think we can really fault anyone for feeling any of those at this point and I certainly do tend toward the frustrated end of the spectrum. The positivity has been beat clean out of me right now.
I liquidated a good portion of my Liberty a few weeks ago (at a significant and painful loss) and am planning to hold the balance as a long term bet on its ability to survive and thrive in the future, but I made my decision to sell on my financial analyses and my risk/reward determination. For me, it no longer made sense, but for many others, it still does, and to everyone I wish only the utmost success. It may prove to be a foolish decision, and I certainly invite you all to quote me if/when that day arrives and point fingers and laugh at me. (seriously, I won't mind!)
I'm a numbers guy, as most know, and I do try to remove as much emotion as I can from my daily investing decisions. I don't intend to spread negativism as a need to depress anyone or beat the stock up, I only try to convey my own analyses of the numbers (for better or worse) to those who do not share such a keen interest in crunching spreadsheets and appreciate the efforts of those who have the patience to do so. I won't always have a happy result, but I do promise that my analyses will be objective and calculated to the best of my ability and knowledge.
I have noticed, though, that every time I post some unpleasant fact, my Score suffers accordingly (something I find humorous), so it is clear that these boards are a place where unbridled positivity is rewarded much more than objective (and potentially negative) analysis.
Fortunately, I am not interested in a popularity contest (Score me on my objective analyses or my positive/negative sentiment as you wish), so for those who find my cold analyses to be a little too painful, please breeze past my posts and leave them for those people who do find them interesting (even if they disagree)... and for those who wish to read, please counter my arguments with your own facts and figures and together we can hash out an even better forecast model. I'm not perfect, but I do know I can read and interpret a Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement better than most. When the hairs stand up on the back of my neck, I feel a strong need to let others know.
