I am not convinced they will fail. Not to say there will not be huge layoffs and complete restructuring that will be very painful for the economy. But I see automakers in front of committees saying they will go bankrupt in the same light as I have seen tobacco industry reps swearing that nicotine is not addictive and baseball players saying they have not used steriods.
