I will just reinforce my opinion, that this is a rumor. The only reason TSLA is kept alive is, that twice a year they go to the Wall Street for an injection of "Others People Money" to keep the lights on. For them to buy a mine in a need of processing factory is just an unnecessary trouble.
However I do agree with Cal, that this sort of promotion may help to boost the stock price. NKLA has zero revenue and despite that its valuation is north of Ford. I don’t see any reason, why LAC, having exactly the same zero as revenue could not overtake market valuation let say Glencore. Since my last check, Robinhood is approaching 8 000 LAC investors. That surely does not explain todays volume, but we are approaching point, where my valuation comments no longer matter, people may just buy it.
