I agree with your sentiment that Thacker Pass can support 100k+ MT per year. Jon Evans has said so (https://vimeo.com/491536474 Start at 16m:32s). However, the permit only allows up to 60k+ MT per year and I am not sure how long the permitting process would take for expansion. Also, it is good practice to underpromise and overdeliver, so I also suspect they lowballed their target. But, what I have come to learn about mining is that even with the best team and resource nothing can be taken for granted. Delays are common, costs go up, production takes time to ramp, and achieving battery quality lithium salts is yet another challenge that needs to be added on top. While I believe production will be expanded to 100k+ MT and beyond, I am not getting my hopes up for this happening anytime before 2027 at the earliest.
