This article abundantly shows that LAC isn't the only mining company fighting to bring a mine to reality in a political and social milieu permeated by political correctness and insistance on green environmental constraints. 

Even in Serbia the mining companies have to go through the gauntlet of jousting with environmental activists in order to move forward with a new mining project and that gauntlet can provide substantial barriers. 

Much in this story sounds familiar to those who follow LAC's own gauntlet in Nevada.
