I don't mean to be a Ganfeng basher.  I believe that it was rkeeb possibly who earlier pointed out that LAC was most fortunate that Ganfeng Lithium came along with its financial, experience and expertise assistance to a much younger, then, LAC when SQM abandoned the Cauchari-Olaroz situation.  Up until that time the previous Western Lithium company and then LAC depended upon climbing the learning curve for a junior lithium miner in the South American Lithium Triangle by hanging on to the apron strings of SQM.

Without Ganfeng to fill the vacuum LAC would have been in a precarious position in South America.  Geopolitics play an important part in the development of LAC, but prudence demands that the same sort of close attention that LAC paid to geopolitics in the past needs to be brought again into play in order to best secure the future of what may be a split LAC in the future.  Deep involvment by the Chinese in LAC's future North American operations might occur only with a very steep and unacceptable price to pay.

It makes sense to proceed with the divorce.  The two divisions could live long and prosper better by celebrating their independence from each other.

Happy Divorce, LAC! The sooner the better, onward through the FOG!
