Well, at the moment LAC is in fact a "holding company", which keeps 100% in Lithium Nevada and 46% in C-O. I speculate, that Ganfeng will concentrate its position in LAC SA (ie 23%) and will not have any shares in the North American to please the US governement.
Since Ganfeng already got 50% of C-O + any shares from LAC, they would have enought to initiate buyout. Listinig on NYSE is expensive, so is the administrative burden. No point to share the profit with outsiders.
Unless of course they wont :-)
