Pavel: "I understand, that the Li2CO3 price is down (but still bit above $12/kg, used in most profitability calculations). However, I just don’t get the market reaction to the fact, that LAAC has delivered 6 ktons of LI2CO3 instead of 5 ktons. And yet is 15%+ down from already heavily depressed price."
Welcome back, Pavel!
You don't stand alone in being discombobulated about this situation. It is as though the downtrend in the price of lithium has cast an ugly spell on lithium mining companies in general, LAC and LAAC being no exception. One of the factors may be the constant barage in the news of new lithium deposits being discovered and a long list of other companies jumping into the list of lithium mining wannabe entrants. Despite the fact that getting "shovel ready" for these aspirants from where they stand in line at the starting point is a long journey through all of the pitfalls involved in getting a mine from the drawing board into production that we have seen happen to LAC before it became LAC and LAAC and now for LAC regarding getting Thacker Pass up and running.
It is similar to walking through a mine field blind folded and with serious balance problems and a full bladder to boot. You can't just stand still, you have to move, hopefully forward, but then there are all those "obstacles" in the way.
Ultimately I think that the advantages those companies have that are nearer to the production side of things than they are the drawing board will prove to be to their economic advantage in this race, LAC at Thacker Pass being one of those nearer to the finish line and LAAC having reached the initial "Finish Line" at least and moving forward to expand production.
Frustration rules the day for all LAC and LAAC investors. So what has changed over the year, eh? Same song second verse. "Someday" remains the name of the game.
Again, Pavel, glad to see you back posting!
