Mum is not "the word" anymore. It has been replaced by: "Sustainability, Decarbonization, Carbon Neutral and Zero Carbon Technologies""

These words are the words of the future that any industrial and/or mining process planned or currently in place will be constrained by for at least the rest of the 21st century, more likely much longer than that.

So what has Jon Evans or Alexi Zawadzki had to say about these buzz words?

In an Elko Daily article from a year and a half ago Jon Evans and Alexi used these words or similar:

Alexi:  “The Thacker Pass Project is being engineered to produce low-cost, battery-quality lithium products reliably and at scale; however, the environmental design is a point of pride for the project team,” said Alexi Zawadzki, CEO of Lithium Nevada. “Our goal is to produce the first carbon neutral lithium products, representing an innovative benchmark in the industry. Our vision is for a more sustainable battery supply chain in the US, with cathode and cell manufacturing located in close proximity to the proposed Thacker Pass mine site."

Well, things change and, of course, LAC has dropped plans for the cell manufacturing "located in close proximity to the proposed Thacker Pass mine site", but you do see the magic buzz words "sustainable" and "carbon neutral" in that quote.

Jon Evans used slightly different wording but stressed how LAC was to be responsible:  “The initiation of the EIS process by the BLM is a major accomplishment and milestone toward developing Thacker Pass as a low-cost and environmentally responsible source of lithium chemicals in the US,” said Jonathan Evans.

Not just any steam, but  "Carbon-free steam is expected to be used in the plant."

Decarbonization as it relates just to the electric power sector of our econom was examined back in 2020 in an article from the Center for Strategic and International Studies.

In that article an interesting quote about renewables:

"Renewables like solar and wind power are perhaps the most widely recognized zero-carbon technologies and are likely to be central to a decarbonized power system."

Engie Energy is a company who touts that they provide " property sector players with its expertise to create and manage the zero- carbon comfort of their building."  Engie put out an impact statement that looks like it could have served as a source for the speech writers of U.S. Energy Secretary Jennifer M. Granholm in one of her recent pronoucements.  Take a gander and see if you see any similarities:

At any rate, we are doomed or presumed to hear more about Decarbonization, Sustainability, Carbon Neutral, Zero Carbon Technologies and Carbon Neutral Footprint from now until the cows come home... that is if we still have cows.

Maybe by then we will have progressed in the world of animal husbandry to the point of producing high milk volume producing Sustainable Non Flatus Producing Bovines  ( aka:  SNFPB)  ????
