Biden administration kills Antofagasta's Minnesota copper project - MINING.COM

Yes, the Antofagasta decision by the Dept of the Interior doesn't involve LAC, however the question does arise:  Does Secretary Haalands's words about the copper project reflect her opinion also about other mining projects proposed in the U.S. that would provide needed raw materials in the EV supply chain..... like "Lithium" for example?

"“We found the leases were improperly renewed in violation of applicable statutes and regulations, and we are taking action to cancel them,” said U.S. Interior Secretary Deb Haaland, adding that her department has a responsibility to “ensure that no lessee receives special treatment,” though she did not elaborate.

Yes, this is "Politics", but I post this only with reflection on how "Politics" in this instance will affect the investment of all of the LAC stock owners here on this Hub.  Hopefully the Department of the Interior's position in regard to Thacker Pass will not be one of obstruction or elimination as it applies to Thacker Pass.  Hopefully.

How about it, WB DT, Neil, rkeeb, Cal, ProsserP, ElithX, Pavel,Cornergrinders, etc?  Is there any apprehension out there about this development in realtionship to LAC or is it considered completely unrelated?  Just asking.  What does everyone think about this development?

There are a lot of videos out there about Secretary Haaland.  Her background is unique for a Secretary of the Interior and it is difficult to predict what her actions or inactions may be as they pertain to Thacker Pass.  Below are just a couple of background videos that may provide some help in discerning just who she is, but no has the definitive answer.  The question remains, though, will the position of the Department of the Interior regarding lithium mining in the U.S. be in support of that endeavor or will it be obstuctive to the success of lithium mining in the U.S.?

There is much in that statement that gives a clue as to Secretary Haaland's views. Start at 5:20 and go to 5:35 for something that might have some bearing on her views, but there is much in this video that gives an insight to Secretary Haaland.
