Britain, China and the Falkland Islands: Why the US must weigh in (msn.com)

It is complicated because of LAC's partnership with Ganfeng Ltd, but the Feb 7th agreement between Argentina and China is just an extension of China's "Belt and Roads Initiative" and, as the above article clearly states: "The agreement represents a giant Chinese foothold in Latin America."

In the long run, and as China extends its presence and its pressure in Argentina, it may prove to be a prescient move on Joh Evans part to reduce the presence of LAC in that country as the political pendulum swings toward the East even though LAC's recent Argentina acquisition would seem to further entrench LAC in that South American country.

At any rate, the political climate in Argentina is something that must be constantly and diligently assessed by LAC moving forward with respect to all of its assets in the Argentine including Cauchari-Olaroz, the Pastos Grandes lithium brine project and its 18% interest in Arena Minerals.

I debated about posting this over on the Discussion Forum.  As a political item it would seem to be more appropriate posted here on the Off Topic Forum, however it is a subject that, in the long run, may have some serious consequences for LAC's footprint in Argentina and it is definitely something that Jon Evans and the Board of Directors at LAC and all LAC investors need to monitor as this situation evolves.

LAC is a Canadian company and Canada's ties with the U.K. may embroil Canada into a U.K.-China/Argentina brouhaha as China entrenches herself deeper into Argentina political aspirations about Buenos Aires claim to "the Malvinas".
