Just questioning if the South African deposits are thought to be of Impact Origin? Not questioning how McFaulds area came to be as no one yet has that answer but shock deformation has been identified and is basis of proof that there was an impact in Sudbury basin area.

The absence of macroscopic or microscopic evidence of shock deformation in pre-Bushveld rocks of the area are inconsistent with formation of the Complex by impact.
