Well, I didn't make it to the show in Vancouver this weekend - too many renovations to get done before my mother-in-law comes to visit next month.
However, I did receive a call this afternoon from Gary at the show. I had given Sarah Jones (Corporate Comms) my cell number, so that Gary and I would be able to meet up and chat.
Sounds like the show is going well. He was surprised at the size of the crowd, given that it is a beautiful day, as well as Father's Day. Lots of interested people, so might be some additional interest.
Gary was super friendly on the phone. We exchanged some small talk. He is a skiier and fisherman, good to do over here on Vancouver Island (God's country). He even knew a bit about the Comox area, having driven through it numerous times.
Then we got down to a few items of interest. He said that they are looking into a few more junior ventures, and that we should have some more news this week. He mentioned Melkior, but wouldn't be any more specific.
I asked how the geophysics were going on the Ring Star (Noront jv). He said that they identified some big anomolies, and they appear to go deep. They are bringing in some other gear to investigate at depth (VTEM?). 'Very exciting' - his words.
In the end, he wished me well with the yard work. He also said that he would be interested in meeting with me any time I am in Vancouver, to just give him a call. I'll make sure I do that next time I am in town.
