Jean-Marc Lacoste
President and Chief Executive Officer
Jean-Marc Lacoste earned his bachelor’s degree in Economics from McGill University in Montreal. In 1993 Mr. Lacoste started a career in finance at the Montreal Stock Exchange where he worked for National Bank Financial and, subsequently, Merrill Lynch Canada. In 2000 he left Montreal for Toronto to join Northland Power, a wind power energy corporation, as Vice President of Acquisitions.
He returned to Montreal in 2002 where he joined the boards of a few public and private companies. From 2004 to 2010, he took a major role in Golden Goose Resources Inc. where he became President and CEO and COB. Mr. Lacoste has great leadership skills and will be a tremendous asset for Monarques Gold Corporation.
Alain Lévesque, CPA, CA
Chief Financial Officer
Mr. Lévesque has 20 years of experience in the field of financial reporting and the management of corporations including several in the mining sector. His experience in the mining industry is diverse ranging from exploration corporations to those in production. Mr. Lévesque began his career as an auditor in two majors accounting firms, Raymond Chabot Grant Thornton L.L.P. and Deloitte LLP, where he worked for 10 years. He then worked as a consultant for various corporations and held the position of Chief Financial Officer for publicly traded companies.
He holds since 2003 the position of Chief Financial Officer for another mining corporation listed on the TSX Venture Exchange. Mr. Lévesque is CPA, CA and a member of the Ordre des comptables professionnels agréés du Québec. He holds a bachelor degree in business of administration from Université Laval since 1995.
Donald Trudel, P. Geo., B.Sc.
Chief Geologist
Mr. Trudel graduated from Laval University in 1989 with a B.Sc. in geology. He has 26 years of experience in economic geology, including the past five years working as a senior reserve and resource estimation geologist in West Africa. Over the course of his career he has worked on more than 17 gold deposits, including 10 underground or open pit mines, and has been involved in all stages of a mining project from exploration and development to production.
He has worked for a number of mining companies, including Minnova, Inco, TVX Gold, Placer Dome, Richmont and, most recently, Semafo, and has held the positions of exploration geologist, production geologist and Chief Geologist. Over the years he has often been called upon to prepare resource and reserve estimates and participate in the preparation of 43-101 reports, prefeasibility studies and feasibility studies.
Gilles Provost, P. Geo.
Geologist
Mr. Provost earned a B.Sc. from UQAM in Montreal and a M.Sc.A. from École Polytechnique, University of Montreal Is master thesis was about a Rhyolitic complex in the Rouyn-Noranda Mining Camp. He has been active in geology since 1977, initially as a field geologist before joining management either as Vice-President Exploration or President for several companies namely Maufort Resources, Charlim Exploration, Ormico Resources, Demontigny Mineral Resources, Pro-Veinor Resources and Provenor.
As geologist consultant he has been involved in South America project in Peru and Colombia and in Guinea, Africa. More recently, he was involved through Golden Goose Resources as senior geologist in the development of the multi-million once Magino gold deposit in Ontario now property of Argonaut Gold.
