``They`` control the Bid and Ask, and are free to move them arbitrarily. Oh, and Greed is Good. What else to ``we`` need to KNOW?
We`ve all seen the obvious manuevers, especially on the poor schmucks that use market orders (MMs march it up with 100 share orders, execute the buy, march it right back down - all in a matter of minutes). ETrade won`t even permit use of a market order on an OTCBB. Why do you think that is?
Yup, best stop talking about it.... You`re not talking to blind fools here, and frankly I resent you`re assumption that WE are.
Test it yourself.... Place a market order to buy or sell (if your brokerage permits it), say 1,000 shares. Watch your realtime ticker. I can almost guaranty you`ll get screwed to some degree. Or, place an order to sell at, say, 10 cents/share. Being honest folk, the MMs - per you - would execute at the prevailing Bid. Let us know how it works out for you.
Don`t mean to be overly snotty with you, but sheesh!
