I hate to get into politics, and normally I'd agree with you, but just yesterday it was reported that Teddy is working closely with the national Chamber of Commerce (i.e., Big Business) in drafting legislation that includes amnesty for illegal aliens. The Chamber of Commerce is even writing part of the bill. The Republicans have not been invited to the table.
Couple that with the debackle regarding those imprisoned Border Guards, where 81 Republican Congressman have signed a petition pushing for their pardon, and not one single Democrat.
It's about the money, but more importantly, it's about the vote (future voters). Now they're pushing for giving resident non-citizens (Green Card folks) the right to vote, suspecting that they'd vote Democrat.
Scary stuff. Bush scares me. The Dems scary me. I'm now an Independent (thanks to GW).
Sorry to digress into that muck, but politics no longer appears to work in ways that we think are "customary". We're living in bazzaroworld.
I live in CA, and not one person I've talked to want all these illegals here, especially the Mexican-Americans who came here legally. Yet schools adjusted their holiday schedule in many parts of the state so illegal students could have time to go back to Mexico to spend the time with family. Amazing.....
Again, sorry..... In more ways than one.
