A wonderful post, Sabre. Take it you flew them? My dad was in the air force in WWII, and flew paratroopers into D-Day, Market Garden, Bastogne, etc. He wondered how, after his first mission and 25% of the planes went down, how he would ever complete 24 more to get out alive. Then they bumped it to 35 when he was at about 20!

I publish military and general history books for a living, so get to work with vets all the time. Love them all and appreciate each one for what they provided this wonderful country.
