First off, we would like to thank all of you for your participation within the AGORACOM community to make it the number one destination for serious small cap investors.
We have 2 important updates to give you before we slide into the weekend.
(1) Wider Message Format - You asked for it…You Got it!
Some of you may have already noticed, but in case you haven't, we have now widened the message view to allow for more horizontal space. We have moved the user information to the right of the avatar as this will help to eliminate those scroll bars that you encountered every so often when posting a long URL or posting a message with HTML embedded within the post. Why did we do this? Because an overwhelming number of our members asked for it. This will hopefully make your user experience on AGORACOM even better!
(2) Site Speed and Server Upgrade
As mentioned in an earlier update this week, we are moving our site to new servers. We've already made some modifications to the site which many of you have already noticed in terms of increased site speed. However, the bulk of the migration to new servers will be happening today at some point after 5PM. The site will be down for between 1-3 hours while we transfer data to the new servers. Our new host is a top of the line specialist for hosting sites such as AGORACOM which are built on a "Ruby on Rails" platform. What this means is that we will be able to scale seamlessly as our traffic count continues to rise. In other words – No More Slowdowns no matter how busy we get.
