Since I believe it was I who speculated the need for JT to make a trip/stay in TX, I'll respond.

The cancellations of the two speaking/Q&A engagements may have been necessary because JT needed to be readily available in TX as a required signature authority, due to his roles at PDS and PTSC, if a settlement(s) were reached.  I am fairly certain that he would have to execute associated documents/contracts if settlement was to be achieved, as I don't believe this authority could be delegated with the desired assurances that approval signatures are valid.  Imagine the scenario of one of the Js finally agreeing to settle....we want all the right players on hand to execute the deal immediately - before anyone changes their minds.  And do you think he'd want to miss the after-signing party? LOL

Others have speculated that there is a "quiet period" imposed, negating his participation in the conferences/Q&A sessions.  This is likely, and may have been imposed at any time (e.g., during the day in which his participation was announced, and then later cancelled).

I suspect both "speculations" are probably correct.  JMHOs.
