That is also a good point oyu make and I thought the same thing when reading Milestone's post. BUT.....The preceding phrase in the same sentence is "...this remains a highly interpretive area of accounting..." That is where many of the differences of opinion on what has / what has not been recognized, recorded, disclosed / not disclosed stem from in all of this - in the interpetation of the accounting rules. This area is not an exact science and is probably heatedly debated even among the most scholarly of accounting minds.
