I was also one of those that thought there was some validity to the contingency theory, but there is still the possiblity of the lump sum amount being made in more then one payment which I believe was actually acknowledged in an email between srandl to Hawk a couple weeks ago. As such, the overall theory of more money coming in from the J3 settlement is not a closed issue yet. Also, even if the contingency theory is dead, I still think there is more to the settlement then we know - the language is all still so vague and unusual, the super strict confidentiality...etc., for simple pay this relatively small amount and thats it.
