I agree they are basically very similar, at least to this non- techie. Our problem the actual reexam process hasn't really started yet...based on what I've read on the app. for the reexam esp. the combined one with a new examiner assigned. I could be all wrong here and the examiner turn around and just issue a reexam certificate citing that none of the pages of reasoning for a reexam are valid and in one quick slash of his pen he issues a reexam certificate. Unfortunately that isn't what I think will happen but, being combined under one man may speed thing sup some esp. if our lawyers push the fact that we've been hanging in limbo for so long ...and at the very least petition for an extension of time of the patent, due to the PTO initiated delays in the reexam process.
