Is it possible that Austek paid such a paltry amount for a license because they had very few products that infringed the patents?
Since the MMP was revalidated in Germany we have seen an increase in licensing after a long dry spell. I have to believe that the German validation has created more pressure on infringers to pay. The next Q should be very telling as to how much the licensing fees have gone up since the German validation.
TPL must be asking for more money as companies are deciding to take us to trial rather than pay up. If they were licensing for less than legal fees why wouldn't these companies pay up? Somthing just don't add up.
All the best,
Steve
