Well I should have figured that my typically would get shot down. Going to arguments in the 3/27/09 response:

In that response claims 8, 20 and 25 were being challenged by Bagula in view of Tanimura. That prompted the cancelling of 8, 20 and 25, but the essence of claim 8 was put into claim 9.

"Claim 9 which is not subject to reexam and which previously depended from claim 8, has been amended into independent form including the limitations of claim 8."

So in the end, we cancelled claim 8 which contained that problematic phrase talking about interface ports, which was included in the amendment to claim 9 and then subsequently taken out.

Additionally, it is worth noting that a claims listing of Oct 28, 2009 reinstated all the information contained in previously deleted claims 20 and 25. Reintroduced as new claims 14 and 15. IMHO That is really telling, and is going to make that Turkey dinner even tastier.
