Dear Greeneyes.
Thank you kindly for your inquiry.
As you correctly note, all 9 of the messages posted by Melody, have been correctly flagged as a violation. As stated earlier, a ban on the user and they IP address they were using have been barred access from AGORACOM. As for the "ignore violations", our Admin's see no sense in sending the user 9 different automated warning messages. This isn't courteous and AGORACOM takes pride in it's providing a high quality and courteous service.
Further to the point, since the profile Melody has been banned, there really is little point to process any of the violations - this was only done, to help the HUB Leaders here and our staff identify what is a fresh violation, and what is not.
Lastly, we understand that there has been an influx of SPAM over the weekend, and some last week. But AGORACOM and many other site's and services have sincere difficulties in prevent SPAM before the fact. Consider your primary email service provider, and count the daily unwanted messages in your inbox.
Even Wikipedia get's attacked every day. All we can do, is correct. In other words, we'd be doing you a disservice, if we, or the HUB Leaders did nothing about SPAM, when it happens.
We appreciate your concerns, and we once again wish to assure you and everyone else here that we are here to help you maintain a clean Community.
Once more we appreciate everyone's efforts in identifying and deleting these messages, and for everyone's patience while this matter subsides.
Kind Regards,
AGORACOM
