How about the "value" of the MMP. It's remarkable to me that nearly 6 years after we learned of the first MMP licenses being sold, there is NO RELIABLE METRIC that provides what the value of the MMP is. The company has been unable/unwilling to communicate that value, and the reported results provided very little insight into what the actual value/cost is for a license.

Perhaps I'm not sufficiently educated in the IP Licensing arena, but from what I've read with some of the other companies that rely largely on IP licensing, they have established royalty rates, or at least ranges that provide the ability to analyze and project what kind of revenue can likely be generated moving forward. Obviously, we don't have that for the MMP. Granted, it can be argued that with the re-exam processes, and the litigation, it is premature to establish that metric, however, the converse argument to that is that TPL/PTSC are working to get whatever they can from each licensee, and it cannotes a negativity to that effort that has been characterized in court docs as a "shakedown".

Obviously, from our standpoint, the more the better, but the flip side to that is that no established value would naturally cause infringers to battle tooth and nail against paying too much relative to others. This kind of uncertainty, IMO, questions the credibility of our licensing efforts (though I might add, undeservedly so in the broad sense, though I'd also add TPL's indiscretions regarding multiple portfolio licensees doesn't help), but if there were an established and publicized royalty rate, I think there would be a better reception by the market to the prospects of the MMP, and perhaps, even a more willing to license infringer base.

I'd be interested in a discussion that compared royalty rates of other IP accross the industry, in an effort to understand what the MMP actually could/should be worth. I think if that were communicated to the market, it would help the shareprice.
