I recall that what happened was simply that INTC had a deal with TPL while AMD made a separate deal with PTSC and as part of the agreement TPL shared in the receipts from AMD and PTSC in the receipts from AMD

As the INTC licenese was greater than the AMD license there was a met payment made to PTSC.

Not a big fan of the BOD .. but belive at that time they did what was best seeing that B&O pissed off the judge and were DQ'd and that working together generated 100mm per firm over the first 2 years.

There was no way to predict the financial mistakes Lekrone would make that would cause him to belie the trust he had built between the 2 companies.

Had the J3 worked out, who knows???
