Here are a few thoughts and articles on the T.I. DDP 1000/1010/1011 products.
If I may summarize, it seems the 1000 is the 'base' and is used in projectors and the 1010 is for HDTV and high-end projectors. It's harder to find info on the 1011 but it could be the "packaging" is different. "Packaging" is how the actual circuitry on the silicon wafer is encased to provide protection, heat dissipation and (especially) to provide the mechanical connections to the circuit board (PCB). "SOP" is a Small Outline Package which uses little feet around the edge of the packaging that are flow-soldered to pads on the PCB. "BGA" is Ball Grid Array which has a grid of contacts underneath the packaging. Not be confused with "PGA" which is similar to "BGA" but which has a grid of pins underneath which insert into a matching socket.

to see the prominent 1010 chip.
Also, this response seems to imply that the 1010 and 1011 are either interchangeable or at least compatible:

"Enter the service mode; under option menu DDP1010 (DDP1011, where applicable)".
I strongly suspect the basic computing component 'core' is common across all 10xx variants and that the 1010 and 1011 may differ only in packaging. I'm not sure 100% because I could not find anywhere that explains how the 1011 differs from the 1010. It makes me feel better.

The DDP1000 controller is a next-generation implementation of TI's Emmy Award-winning DLP(TM) technology. DLP(TM) technology provides clear, sharp, bright image performance in a compact and low cost display solution. The high bandwidth of RDRAM memory helps TI to implement Sequential Color Recapture technology to improve still further image quality and clarity. RDRAM memory enables even smaller and lighter microportable business projectors from leading projector OEMs such as InFocus(R) (LP(R)70 and LP650), Sharp Electronics (NoteVision PG-M20X, PG-M25X and PG-M20S), Toshiba (TDP-P5), HP (sb21), Dell (3100 MP), Optoma (EzPro 737 and 756) and NEC Solutions America Inc. (LT240 and LT260). It also allows manufacturers like SIM2 Multimedia (SDV41 A200) and Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America Inc. (VS-67FD10U) to manufacture video wall boxes that project sharper images.

In addition to business projectors, the DDP1010 TI DLP(TM) display controller for consumer high-definition TV products and large-venue projectors will also utilize RDRAM memory.

The new DDP1010 ASIC (Application Specific Integrated Circuit) integrates the functionality of several ICs and reduces the number of required ASICs from two to one; it also reduces the amount of external memories twelve-fold. The DDP1010 incorporates TI's latest DLP(TM) technology video and graphics processing algorithms, an integrated system micro-controller and a rich-media port that supports bit-mapped OSD and alpha blending.
