Regarding the Apple License. You mentioned that the rumor is that the MMP License to Apple was for approximately $10M. I do NOT think that's correct. At least based on the licening numbers reported for PDS in PTSC's SEC Filings, there hasn't been a quarter since the one that ended August of 2008 that included more than $10M TOTAL in license fees for the MMP.
In fact, according the the court filings, it was approx. April of 2010 that the Apple license was consumated. That quarter included only $1.38M in fees. Since then, the HIGHEST fee total was the quarter that ended February of 2011 which included $7.44M in fees.
It's always been my guess that THAT was the quarter that included the disputed Apple license fee. From reading the court docs that I saw, it's my opinion that the total Apple licenses for ALL TPL portfolios was roughly $18M. Based on the PTSC's SEC filings, it's my opinion that less than $7M of that total was attributed to the MMP. And PTSC didn't get any of it, I don't believe, as I think all of it went towards PDS costs in that quarter.
If others have different opinions, I'd like to hear them and hope that they can be supported with some of the filed information. Thanks in advance.
