I saw the beceem chip. The Sierra website lists Qualcomm as a techology partner. I would not be suprised if Qualcomm has made an offer to purchase the MMP. What is the value of the MMP to one of these giants that might be able not only go after new infringers but also mitigate some of the patent royalties that they might already pay to other companies ?
