<when does it recognize revenue?>

IMO, It can recognize revenue anytime there is revenue to report. Recording of the revenue must be done within the Q that it is received. Further, I think most here assume full payment of the license would necessarily be in hand before any license is signed/announced.

I'm not an accountant so welcome anyone out there to jump right in if any misstatements.
