Let's go! Let's go classic - "While HTC’s expert says that the PLLs generate the clock, TPL’s expert counters that the ring oscillators generate the clock and the PLLs merely buffer or fix the frequency. 25 This is a classic factual question that requires a trial to answer.”

The picture blurred by all reexams and court fights plus ITC procedings is getting much clear now. In my oppinion, it should be clear long time ago with a hundred plus licenses and recertifications by PTO. It's pittaful these classic patent infringment cases got dragged this long. We all got so unhappy for so long. It's time for our lawyers to close the lid and nail the coffin one by one.

"PLLs merely buffer or fix the frequency", if we apply this to the power on (startup) moment, is it safe to say that by the time the much slower external crystal manages to send the first signal to PLL to buffer or fix (limit) the freqency, the ring oscillators already clocked the cpu 99 times? If this is true, this is both a quality and quantity event, not a "de minimus" event as our opponent lawyer argued. Juries will answer it in a few weeks. In the meantime, anyone have inside knowledge of cpu clocking care to comment?
