A Football Analogy

This is my opinion though I hope is shared by many.......
Most successful football teams believe in winning. Losses and ties are not Wins!
If a successful football team is on the 10 yard line going in.... If that team is behind by 3
points......and there is no overtime for a tie ..... There is nine seconds left in the 4th...
Though the team has a sure footed kicker that has never missed and at this point 3 poitns
and a tie looks to be a lock....what to do?
A tie leaves the team with nothing more then a feeling of what might have been.
And
However if the coach has faith in the ability of his team and what it is made.... If it is strong
up the middle, with a great offense, it is a team with character and is mostly morally correct,
and believes in playing cleanly and though there have been ups and downs in the past the
team has a wining program (when we have put the game on the line in the past we have
succeeded 17 times and lost once)......and yes thoughwe have had IN THE
PAST a PLAYER that might not have played the game as wise coaches think it should be
played we Hopefully have gotten through to that player that we play as a team, we win as ateam that there
is no I in team so and everybody profits or if it should happen we all lose as a team........
What does a Winning Coach do in a situation like that?
My experience says.......
He/She goes for the WIN..... Why?
A tie will get my team No Where but a WIN will lead to bigger and better things for entire
team.
Yes we lose if we do not score a touchdown on our last play. Thankfully nobody will die but
then again nobody will have any regrets or spend the rest of thier lives saying what if .....
If the teams coach is fearful of losing then he should remember and act according as to what
is best for the entire
team and he should also remember that......
Regrets are forever, Fear is fleeting......
The morale of the story IMO is ...... No Settlements.... IMO we go for the Win at the NDoC
later this month.... And lets hope wehave the right player in Otterson to finally take PTSC into
the endzone for our first major win which would unduobtedly lead to many more and be benefical to all of the team and it's supporters and if we
should lose then at least we tried ... as one espn announcer likes to say....
"Go All The Way!"
Of course I reiterate......This is my opinion
