After listening to the recording, here's what I thought was interesting:
- cliff, moore, apple atty, hoge, all inperson
- gloria, johnson & atty's for sony, sandisk & toshiba phoned in
- Prochnow (moore's atty) stated that there were over 600 infringers
- It was widely understood the the MMP is the main source of revenue out of all tpl's ip
- there were several indications that the MMP is very valuable
- the judge asked harris (leckrone atty) for specifics on revenue projection modeling
- leckrone plan to payoff creditors w/in 7 years (7 yr revenue stream?)
- prochown stated the mansion in london and several licenses should be investigated including one issued to a "large silicone valley concern" (apple?)
- harris stated "waves of licensing by infringers on sidelines waiting for outcome" and "substantial additional income going forward"
Just a few notes I jotted down. seems to me like there is still value in the MMP. best as I can tell is the judge is trying to quantify the income stream potential of the MMP. it sounds like the tpl camp will finally need to divulge the estimated value of the MMP during the next hearing (my opinion based on judges comments).
all the best, kw
